Set smart  screen-time     limits

While technology has many benefits it's important to avoid screen-time overload, which can have a negative social-emotional impact on young children. 

  • Children under 18 months should be limited.  children 2-5 years 1 hour or less a day...

  • Schedule "real" screen-free playtime for children

  • Choose TV shows and tablet games with positive role models...

  • Talk about real vs. pretendchildren have a hard time understanding that what is seen on TV is NOT REAL...

  • Model setting limits by turning off screens for several hours before bedtime...

  • Limit your own screen use when with your child.
